What is the function of a face scrub?
Face scrub helps in the exfoliation of skin. Exfoliating is the act of removing dead cells from the top layer of your skin. While many of the dead skin cells fall off naturally, some don’t shed from the skin perfectly, meaning it can leave a dry and flaky patch on the skin, or it can clog your pores. That is why exfoliating should be an important part of your skin-care routine.
How often should I use face scrub?
You should exfoliate two to three times per week, based on a normal or a combination skin type. If you are more sensitive however, then you may want to limit the act to just once a week.
Do you exfoliate before or after cleansing?
You should try both ways, as both ways have its pro’s and cons.
If you cleanse first, you are removing all the dirt and sweat from the skin so that you can exfoliate on a clean surface. Whereas if you exfoliate and then scrub, you are raising the dead skin cells from the skin and then the cleanser is helping to remove them.
Most opt for a cleansing before scrubbing, however it is important to understand that it can work both ways.
Is it better to exfoliate in the morning or at night?
It is important to remember the best time to exfoliate should balance around your lifestyle and commitments. If you find you are too tired in the evenings and don’t stick to your skincare routine then maybe the morning is better.
At the same time, if you do apply a heavy makeup each day then you may want to exfoliate in the evenings, to ensure everything is completely cleaned off.
Can I use a face scrub in winter? Or will it overly dry my skin?
Yes. Use gentle exfoliators, and do not exfoliate more than once a week. Always follow exfoliation with a moisturizer.
What should I do if I get a rash or irritation after applying this product?
Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention.
