Netsurf started with aim to provide the opportunity of micro entrepreneurship to people from all sectors of society and backgrounds. Even today, over 60% of India’s women are outside the labour force. Thus, the Asmita Project was started by Netsurf in February 2016 to provide financial freedom to women and give them an opportunity for self-reliance. We started with 100 female direct sellers pan India in Feb 2016, which quickly grew to over 1000 in the first 2 months of launching this project. Providing them special incentives, arranging women specific programs, making products in health care, home care and personal care spheres geared towards women, this number has grown exponentially over the years.
