Mr. Jayant Barua was using a huge quantity of the chemical pesticides in his tea garden to avoid pests and to better growth of the leaves. It had eventually increased his costs of farming, however, there was no promising increase in the yield, also the leaves were small. It had also reflected in the market rate his tea leaves were fetching.
When heard about Biofit’s results, he started using Biofit products into his tea garden. He sprayed Biofit Wrapup, Bio-99 after 1 day of fine plucking of the tea buds. He also sprayed Biofit Stimrich and Bio-99 after -67 days after the new leaves and buds have grown. He sprayed Biofit NPK and Biofit SHET when the leaves became 2-3 inch sized.

There was an excessive use of Uria before he started Biofit. However, thanks to Biofit, his requirement for Uria quantities had reduced significantly.
Comparison between Previous tea garden and Biofit tea garden-
Previous tea garden:
  • Cost per 1 acre: Rs. 10,000 to 12,000
  • Average yield: 25 to 28 quintal
  • The Selling Rate: Rs. 18 to Rs 20/ per kilo
  • Net Profits per acre: Rs 35,000 to Rs. 44,000
Biofit tea garden:
  • Cost per 1 acre: Rs. 7000 to 8000
  • Average yield: 32 to 35 quintals
  • The Selling Rate: Rs. 18 to Rs. 20/ per kilo
  • Net Profits per acre: Rs 50,600 to 62,000
He witnessed an increase in the number of leaves; the leaves were greener and healthier than before. Its quality improved and so did the market rate it fetched.

The soil quality improved & the damage to the plants reduced after reducing the use of chemical-based fertilizers and pesticides in his garden. Mr. Barua is glad with the results of Biofit products. Now he also recommends using Biofit products to other tea farmers in Dibrugarh.
